It has finally been formally declared by Indian cricket team coach Rahul Dravid that his final assignment with the national side will be the 2024 T20 World Cup. The head coach of the squad since 2021, and a former captain of the Indian cricket team,
announced that he will not be running for the position again. The top position has already been posted by the BCCI, and the new coach will start on July 1. June 29 is the final day of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Prior to India’s opening T20 World Cup 2024 encounter against Ireland, Rahul Dravid made the following remarks.
Dravid was questioned concerning India’s starting lineup as well. We have Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma. Since Virat Kohli opened in the IPL, everything is set.
Before India’s opening World Cup match against Ireland, Dravid told reporters he had loved every minute of his time as a coach.
“Every competition has significance. For me, every match I’ve coached for India has been crucial. When asked if this tournament held more significance because it was his last as team captain, he replied,
“So for me this is no different just because it’s going to be the last one that I’m in charge of.”
In November 2021, after the T20 World Cup, the former captain of India assumed leadership of the team.
“I enjoy my work here. India coaching has been a lot of fun, and I think it’s a very unique job. Although this is a terrific group of boys to work with, I really enjoyed working with this team.
However, given my current situation and the kind of schedule I have, I don’t think I’ll be able to reapply,” he added.
